Major Attractions

There is not much attraction like Theme and Amusement parks, Zoos and etc like in other cities in Port Moresby. However it does have a few very good place for visitors to visit. Here is a major visitor/tourist spots in Port Moresby.

1. The National Parliament

The National Parliament grounds are open to Public and visitors all year round. The security at the parliament is not very strict like in other countries to protect their parliament so entry at the gate is easy. However, it is advisable to go with a local guide as you might be asked to explain your visit to to the parliament by the security staff. Visitors can even go inside  and watch the Parliament session from the Public Gallery inside, if the parliament session is on.

While at the National Parliament, one can also visit the Sir Rabbie Namaliu Orchid Garden. Its beautiful and lots of country's wild orchid flowers are there.

2. Port Moresby Nature Park

The Port Moresby Nature Park is located right next to the University of Papua New Guinea. It used to be the NCD National Botanical Gardens but it has been renamed to Port Moresby Nature Park.
It is like a mini zoo where selected native wild animals, birds and plants are on display. Great place to visit.

3: Adventure Park PNG
This place is a mix of everything, there's a garden, barbecue facilities, kids playground, some animals  and birds and a orchid garden. It is about 30 minutes drive out of Port Moresby towards road linking to Sogeri Mountains and opposite the Pacific Adventist University (PAU) entrance gate. It is advisable to book for group visit or activities there.

4: PNG LNG Processing Plant.
PNG has just completed the first Liquefied National Gas (LNG) plant next Port Moresby. Its about 30 minutes drive from down town Port Moresby. The road linking to Plant Site is wide and good site to visit on weekends.
